I have decided to take up Sailor Moon costume commissions. For the time being, I will only be able to accept a few at a time, until I can get into a more permanent routine (We're supposed to be moving... sometime).
You can also read this, order, or follow my work at my DeviantArt.
Why? Why, you may ask, am I doing this, as there are 22958574 costume commissioners and all of them do Sailor Moon work?
I hate seeing bad Sailor Moon costumes commissions, it makes me sad, really. I, too, have fallen prey to this, when I first started cosplaying. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of awesome commissioners out there, but I also enjoy making them, and seeing them go to people who appreciate them.
What? Costumes: Currently, I am only taking SeraMyu (Sailor Moon musical) fuku orders. I've been making my own SeraMyu fuku for my former role in the Salad Time Soldiers, a SeraMyu performance group, for a few years now, and have gotten them pretty under control.
I will be opening up commissions to other styles (anime, manga, PGSM) in the future, after I fiddle around with them. Why? I don't think it'd be right for me to offer to make you something that I haven't made in a while, or have never tried.
I am willing to make original designs/otaku senshi, but will need to discuss the details over with you before accepting the commission.
Wigs: Wigs will need to be discussed before accepting the commission. While I have done plenty of wigs, there are certain things I can and cannot do at the moment. Again, I don't want to offer you something that I can't make decently.
Props: I am not taking prop commissions at this time (Silence Glaive, Space Sword, Moon Rod, etc). I do not feel that I have enough experience to be able to make something well enough to sell.
How much? I accept PayPal payments at this time. If you do not have PayPal, and still wish to order from me, please feel free to contact me first, and we can talk about other ways of payment, but I cannot guarantee I'll be able to accept your order.
The price of your commission will depend on the style, fabric, time, and detailing that it requires to make. Since I have only done a few so far, I am not able to give a base price estimate at this time. After talking with you about the details of your order, I will be able to give you an estimate of how much it would cost.
For all commissions, I require half of the payment up front. The second half of the payment will be due at a later, pre-determined date, after progress on the costume has been made.
When? You must order at least 3 months before you need the costume completed. While I can work pretty fast, and spend as much time as I can on it, I cannot foresee real life incidences that interfere. The more time you give me, the better. The time will start when I receive your first payment, since obviously there is not much I can do before I get your materials.
If you want a costume, but need it in less than 3 months, please let me know, and I will see what I can do. I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to accept your order.
Where? I am willing to ship anywhere, but realize that overseas shipping will cost extra. I'll be able to give an estimate on how much it'll cost in the near future, as I have a costume getting ready to be shipped soon.
My preferred method of shipping is Priority Mail via the United States Postal Service. I generally like flat-rate boxes as they're easier to work with, but not all costumes will fit in these.
Your package will be insured and have delivery confirmation. Insurance will be for the price you paid for the entire commission, so that I can replace it, or refund it.
If you prefer I use a different service (UPS, FedEx), I can, but the pricing will be different.
Disclaimer Please be aware that I have the right to decline any commission for any reason, at any time. I am not a professional seamstress, and do not claim to be, I just enjoy making costumes. If you want something made professionally, I suggest you order elsewhere. However, if you like my work, and would like one too, I'd be happy to talk with you about it.
I think that's it. If you have any questions, please let me know, and I'll be happy to answer them for you.
